Random thoughts at random times » Whatnot http://www.opsmonkey.com My technically difficult and weird blog Tue, 07 Feb 2012 02:06:06 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.3.1 15 week self challenge http://www.opsmonkey.com/1031/15-week-self-challenge/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=15-week-self-challenge http://www.opsmonkey.com/1031/15-week-self-challenge/#comments Wed, 26 Mar 2008 05:21:30 +0000 Rafael http://www.opsmonkey.com/?p=1031 OK, the last time I challenged myself, I met all of my goals.  This time around, may be more difficult, but here it goes anyway.  I’m going to track my progress both on here and on my fattrailrunner.com blog.  I was sitting on my couch tonight, eating pizza and watching the biggest loser.  They had some guys on there that had lost 100+ pounds in 13 weeks and whatnot.  Of course, I think that if anyone is provided with a cook, a trainer, and has nothing to do but workout for 13 weeks they really have no excuse not to lose weight, but I digress.

Here are some of my goals:

  • Spend more time with my kids.
  • Increase my income by 50% so I can get caught up with some things and maybe get ahead on some others.  This is a tough one, and I think this may be my biggest obstacle.
  • Lose 75lbs in the next 15 weeks.  This equates to 5 lbs a week, which is very doable.
  • Help someone else accomplish one of their own goals.

These are the big goals for the next 15 weeks.  All of my other goals cascade from or contribute towards these primary ones.  Will I be successful?  I dunno, but lets find out shall we?  I have until July 8th 2008.

]]> http://www.opsmonkey.com/961/i-love-youtube/feed/ 0 At the store yesterday http://www.opsmonkey.com/832/at-the-store-yesterday/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=at-the-store-yesterday http://www.opsmonkey.com/832/at-the-store-yesterday/#comments Sun, 26 Aug 2007 21:00:51 +0000 Rafael http://www.opsmonkey.com/?p=832 We went to HEB yesterday, to get a few groceries and whatnot.  While there, we’re told that these kids from school of rock are playing a concert and that we should go check them out because they are raffling away a pair of tickets to the Austin City Limits festival.  Turns out you have to be under 15 to enter the raffle, so we talk Daniela into putting her name in the hopper and we stick around to listen to the kids play.  After the kids are done playing, they start giving away the prizes.  Shirts, posters, CDs and whatnot followed by the grand prize.

Yep, L’il D won the tickets to ACL, so it looks like I may be going to the festival.
