Did you ever wonder why there are no dead penguins on the ice in Antarctica – where do they go ?

Wonder no more ! ! !

It is a known fact that the penguin is a very ritualistic bird which lives an

extremely ordered and complex life.

The penguin is very committed to its family and will mate for life, as well

as maintaining a form of compassionate contact with its offspring

throughout its life.

If a penguin is found dead on the ice surface, other members of the family

and social circle have been known to dig holes in the ice, using their

vestigial wings and beaks, until the hole is deep enough for the dead bird

to be rolled into and buried.

The male penguins then gather in a circle around the fresh grave and sing:

“Freeze a jolly good fellow”

“Freeze a jolly good fellow.”

“Then they kick him in the ice hole.”

You really didn’t believe that I know anything about penguins, did you!

I remember this one time in college, when a friend of mine confided in me. He told me that he and his then long term girlfriend were having problems. He felt that they could’ve been able to work them out, except that when she was on vacation with her family the week before, she had an affair with a guy named “Thor”.

I remember the look on my friend’s face when I busted out in full blown laughter. I tried to hold it back, but I couldn’t. After I caught my breath, I explained myself…

“Don’t you get it?? She got nailed by Thor… and his mighty hammer… Miulnar”

I laughed some more after that. In fact, I still chuckle everytime I think about it.

I don’t know that my friend understood just how funny that was to me at that point in time. I think that he may see the humor in it now, but I’m speculating. Yes, he and I are still friends and no, he and his girlfriend did not work things out.
