Now, imagine you’re the owner of car B, calling the insurance company of car A to file a claim to get your car fixed.

Seems likely, that given this picture, you shouldn’t be hassled about whether or not car B is at fault, right? I mean, c’mon?

Well, I bet, that the insurance company of car A, tried to argue that the driver of car B is somehow at fault for this wreck. I mean, why else would car B end up under car A if car B’s driver wasn’t at fault somehow, right?

Keep that in mind the next time you see an ad for an insurance company claiming that they’re there to help you.

Insurance companies, like banks, are in the business of making money. They are not in the business of helping people. One of the ways that they make money, is by keeping expenditures (including the money that they pay out in claims) down as low as they can.

If insurance companies and banks were really in the business of helping people, they’d all be non-profits.

And another thing, why is it that insurance companies don’t refund the money that you pay in premiums? Think about it, you pay a premium for coverage, if at the end of your coverage period, you haven’t made a claim, shouldn’t they refund you your money, minus an administrative fee or something like that?

Given these stats, my projected gasoline expenses are just over $400 a month.  It’s actually $402 to be precise.  There’s really only 1 solution to this problem, and that’s to use less gas.  The question then becomes, how do I do that?  Get a job closer to home, or drive a car that uses less gas.  I’m not liking this one bit.

Last week, a friend of mine sent me this picture in an email.  I had a hard time with it, given the state of things.

Some crack head that can sing a little bit is sick from their crack, cocaine and alcohol addiction, big deal. At least, she appears to have the resources to handle her addictions and medical problems, the thing is that she is choosing to not do anything about it.

Have y’all seen the crack head on the corner with the sign begging for help?

The person that really wants help but can’t afford it, and probably doesn’t know where to go get started on the road to recovery? That’s the person that we should really care about. I don’t mean to discount Amy Winehouse’s crack addiction and emphysema, but seriously, she doesn’t want nor need our help.

I say, ignore her, and maybe she’ll go away.

If you really want to care for someone with a drug problem, care for the guy that used to have a job, a house, a car, a wife, a family, etc. that lost everything and is now living on the streets because of his drug addiction. That guy just needs a helping hand to pull him out from the pit. Care for that guy. That guy doesn’t have the resources to check himself into a $1000 a day rehab center.

How many times have you seen that guy with the sign and thought “he did that to himself, if I give him money, he’s just going to go buy drugs with it” yet at the same time you’re jamming out to an Amy Winehouse song or some other song on the radio, or your iPod not realizing the connection between the guy on the corner and the person “singing” on your radio. A drug addict, is a drug addict no matter where they live.

In my opinion, the media needs to stop referring to her as “Grammy winner” and start calling her “the crack head.”
