McCain-Palin or Obama-Biden?

in General Musings

Well, I try to stay away from American politics as much as I can, seriously, I do.  I feel the need to say something about this today.

I feel, that McCain picking Palin is a condescending move.

McCain is desperate and he’s trying to pander to people’s emotions.  Basically, he wants to give all the people that don’t want to vote for a black guy a reason to vote for him.  He’s also trying to pander to all the yellow belly dems that wanted Hillary to win, just because she’s a woman, regardless of her actual stance on the issues.

To paraphrase Hillary, all the people switching sides to the McP ticket from Hillary need to ask themselves, why were they supporting Hillary in the first place.  Were they supporting her, or were they supporting what she and the democratic party as a whole stands for?

Turn coats don’t bother me.  I’m glad that people that were not committed are defecting.  I say, let them go.

On the other hand, I still think that Obama should’ve picked Hillary as his running mate.  I totally understand why he didn’t pick her though.  I think Biden is a good choice for a running mate, I don’t think he’s a clutch player like Hillary is.  Biden does have good, solid credentials, as far as I know, he hasn’t really done or supported anything that I’d have a hard time with.  I guess only time will tell who will win the election.

One thing is for certain, this is probably the most exciting electoral race for president ever.

I love this country.

  1. He made such a bad choice in a running mate that he has ensured his loss. Why is she a bad choice? That will become apparent, soon enough.

BTW, I am not anti-woman (quite the contrary) but I am totally anti-hypocrite.

Your wrong…don’t count out the Christians in this country the power behind them.

The fact that McCain chose Palin was a Very Smart move on his part. Obama made a smart move picking Biden, but I think he left a lot hanging out there. The woman vote is VERY CRUCIAL. The fact that he basically chose Biden instead of Hillary because he knew of the baggage she carried. Mr.Bill. Now he has to battle back. McCain now has many jumping ship because of his V.P. pick. Palin is a fresh breath, but if I wanted a fresh breath, I would go to the mountains. That doesn’t mean I want to live there. I got support for Obama I think he is the right pick for the U.S.. Another 4 years of Bush type administration just wont cut it.

A Democratic Senate, and Congress, and then a President to top it off. This was the mistake of the last election with the Republicans having the majority vote. We as a people need to look at the elections as a whole. Balance to try and find those that will represent the people of the United States, not just those that are complaining in a minority. We have to take care of our Nation as a whole. This means that some people will be neglected, but the majority is good. Please, this is not meant to be misinterpreted as race, or religion. I am talking about the Nation as a whole. I truly feel that Americans (ALL OF THEM) need to break out their Civics Books and refresh their minds of how our system was set up and how we are to be truly represented. Not by Career Politicians.
From a Veterans point of view, I will not vote for a man or woman that will not take the Pledge of Allegiance, and I cannot vote for someone that feels that our Nations Flag is representative of OPRESSION! If that is the case, then why the hell is everyone wanting to come here to live? I also will not vote for someone that is interested in Special Interest. So, my choice, is to Not Vote. I earned that by serving this country, how many others have done the same? Just one persons opinion in a world of political chaos.

  5. Hello everyone, first of all, thank you for your comments. I have a couple of follow ups:

Abigail, who is wrong? Myself or Mike?

    M. Martinez: You’re right about his choice of Palin being a purely political move. From listening to Karl Rove, it appears that more undecided women are likely to vote for another woman than they are for a man of a different race etc. Time will tell on that point.

    M. Parker: I have great admiration for people, like yourself, that serve this great country and put their lives on the line to defend it. You have definitely earned the right to not vote. I posit this question to you: Isn’t not voting against the incumbent party, the same as voting in favor of them?

  6. Palin was the best pick ever!!! She is a real person who has and will make mistakes, however she is a breath of fresh air. She is a down to earth every day good American Citizen who loves this country. Wish I could say the same for BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA, but that would make me a liar now wouldn’t it.

  7. Hi Randy,

    Thank you for your comment.

    Cheers!

  8. I think Sarah Palin should be running for President instead of another corrupt official(obama)or just another ancient Senator(mccain)

  9. Obama says he wants to…”keep abortion safe, legal and rare”. Think about that; safe? (someone dies each time); legal? (unfortunately it is); rare? (it has never been rare since 1973 millions have been killed). I’m sad that making a law that goes agains God’s law is considered a controversial issue. There won’t be any controversy after our short earthly pilgrimage is over; only an accounting. Be careful what (who) you vote for.
